Active Membership

To be considered an active member of the club, certain prerequisites must be met as laid out through our constitution.

Dues

Members are required to pay club dues each semester. If you are new to the club, you are welcome to attend lessons for 2-3 weeks to test the waters before dues are required. Your dues are determined by the level of lesson that you are taking. For example, if you are consistently attending bronze technique lessons on Sundays, we would ask you for bronze dues. Even if you don’t end up actually competing that semester, the time and coaching for those lessons are worth bronze rates. If you’re not sure what rate you should be paying, feel free to ask an EBoard member for clarification.

Dues for AU24 are as follows:

Social - $40
Competitive Newcomer - $50
Competitive Bronze - $60
Competitive Silver - $70
Alumni or Open-Only - $30

**First-Semester Discount - $10 off regardless of rate if it’s your first semester with the club

Payments can be made via Venmo @DanceSportatOSU or via check addressed to DanceSport at OSU. We generally do not accept cash.

Forms

Please follow the links to fill out Do Sports Easy in order to be considered a competing member of our club. This is a waiver that releases the University and the RPAC from liability, and also collects your medical and insurance information so that you can be taken care of if you get injured. If you are First Aid or CPR certified you can become a safety officer and submit that documentation through Do Sports Easy as well.

Behavior and Conduct

Members must follow The Ohio State University Code of Student Conduct, the Member Code of Conduct outlined in the club constitution, and treat fellow dancers with respect. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment in this club and failure to follow the code of conduct will result in removal from the club and possible further action.

Consent and respect is of utmost importance to this club and to ballroom in general. Ballroom is a partnered activity that involves physical contact. All participants must be respectful of boundaries, regardless of who they are dancing with. Always remember, you are not entitled to a partner.
