So You’ve Decided You Want To Compete…


Yay! So you’ve practiced for weeks now and learned a couple of cool new moves, and feel like you are ready to compete. Great! Here are some tip-top tips to help you waltz to success!

What to wear to your first competition

Smooth/Standard:

Follows– a dress or skirt slightly shorter than ankle-length, dance shoes, a well-fitted shirt/tank top or leotard

Leads– white shirt, black pants, black socks, black belt, solid color (usually black) tie or bowtie, (optional black vest), dance shoes

Latin/Rhythm:

Follows – a shorter skirt or dress with some movement, a top or leotard, black spanx (for under your skirt)

Leads – black button-down shirt or tight turtle-neck, black pants, black socks, black belt, dance shoes
